Check if the IO-box(es) are connected using the steps described in the Quick Start Guide. If the IO-boxes are connected correctly and you still receive this error it might be possible that another hardware unit is recognized by the protocol which does not exist. To solve this, go to the "Arena settings" and click "Hardware mapping" in the bottom right corner. Remove the hardware that are not connected. Then go to "Experiment settings" and click on "Trial Control Hardware". Check if any of the control boxes have hardware mapped which are not available. For example: You have connected an IO-box which controls the Pellet Dispenser, but in the past you used an mini IO-box. The protocol has this mini IO-box still in memory and should be removed in order to continue.
